“Quiche, Quiche, Quiche!” The Kid Kritics chanted this after we served it to them. We know kids like this and it is easy to prepare. Another meal-in-one dish!
375 degrees F
10 inch glass pie plate, toaster oven, 2 mixing bowls, whisk

6 or more depending on ages
1 pie crust (spelt or gluten-free; no hydrogenated oils)
Place on Bottom of pie plate. Bake until edges are golden. Remove from oven.4 strips uncured turkey bacon (additive-free)
4 Shelton's Turkey Sausage Patties
Cook in toaster oven until crisp. Dab off any extra fat. Crumble or cut into little pieces. Place in mixing bowl.2 large eggs (free range, if possible)
1 cup rice, almond or organic cow's milk
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
1/4 tsp. sea salt (optional)
Whisk together in a different mixing bowl. Set aside.1 cup Seriously Sharp Cheddar Cheese, by Cabot, shredded
1/2 cup steamed broccoli florets, chopped
Add cheese and broccoli to bacon and sausage mixture. Stir together. Spread evenly over pie crust. Pour egg mixture over top.3 dashes paprika
Sprinkle on top of quiche. Place quiche in oven. Bake until eggs are firm, about 20 minutes. Remove from oven and let stand a few minutes before serving.
You can take the basic egg/milk mix and add any combination of healthy meats or veggies along with cheese - a great way to use up leftovers! Customize it to your families tastes. Don’t be afraid to try new combinations. This is a great foundation for expanding the taste buds of your family!
