Peppermint iced tea made extra refreshing with the addition of real lemonade! Serve it with a straw and raspberry ice cubes for a special treat. Here's what the Kid Kritics had to say, "It was refreshing. Looked and tasted like lemon with pineapple and a raspberry – loved it! Felt like there was a party in my throat. Tastes awesome! Tea kettle, wooden spoon, 1 gallon beverage container, 2 ice cube trays
15 minutes plus freeze time for ice cubes
About 12-14
10 cups spring water (suggested brand: Iceland Spring)
1 Tbs loose peppermint tea leaves (or 3 tea bags)
Bring water to a boil in tea kettle. Add loose tea to to an infuser. Pour hot water over tea leaves and steep 10 minutes. Remove tea leaves. Allow to cool.3 1/2 cups real lemonade (homemade if possible) **
Stir in lemonade and chill.24 raspberries, fresh or frozen
Add a raspberry to each ice cube mold. Pour lemonade tea mixture over top to fill ice cube trays. Freeze. Serve Peppermint Lemon Iced Tea with raspberry ice cubes and a straw!
Use 3 Tbs fresh mint in place of dry tea. Peppermint tea, Peppermint Lemon Iced Tea, or water could also be used for ice cubes. Add a mint leaf to ice cubes. Add any type of fruit to ice cubes or use frozen fruit for ice. No time to make lemonade? Just add some lemon juice and honey to the tea.
** Lemonade: Use homemade lemonade if possible. If buying store-bought, choose one made with real lemon juice and honey or sugar. No artificial flavors or corn syrup!
