and your kids will love!
Kids love ranch dip. This one packs in some extra fiber and protein from navy beans that helps keep tummies full til the next meal. Your kids will love it and you'll love knowing that you're serving them something healthy. Great for a snack or even in a lunchbox.
Just listen to what the Kid Kritics had to say about this recipe, "This is the best!!! I would use this dip for everything I will eat. I would give it a 1000,0000,000 (rating)!!!! ... OMG! If heaven was a food, this little guy would be its king! I love it! This is amazing ... First, when I looked at it, it did not look good. But you don’t taste with your eyes. You taste with your mouth. So I tried it – felt like the end of a rainbow ... When I tasted it I fainted. When I fainted, I was dreaming about this delicious world of chips and dip!"
Food processor
5-7 minutes
4-6, depending on ages
15 oz. can navy beans (BPA-free can if possible)
1/4 cup Organic Ranch Dressing Mix by Simply Organic
2 Tbs. lemon juice, freshly squeezed
3 Tbs. Greek-Style Yogurt, Lowfat, Plain by Cabot of Vermont
1 clove garlic, minced
1/4 tsp. sea salt
1 Tbs. extra virgin olive oil
Process in food processor until smooth. Serve with pita, pita chips, carrots, celery, and/or cucumber slices.
Replace navy beans with garbanzo beans for a ranch hummus! Soak and cook dried beans to replaced canned. Sprinkle dip with paprika before serving. Replace raw garlic with 1/8 tsp garlic powder. If you prefer a milder garlic taste, use roasted garlic instead. Add 1-2 Tbs tahini - a paste made from sesame seeds. It is packed with nutrients, but it can add a slightly bitter taste so start with a little and add more if your family isn't used to it.
